POWER Expands Nationwide

Fremont, Calif. Sept 29, 2008 - With the addition of three Regional POWER managers, Advanced Power Projects, Inc. (POWER) has expanded its coverage of the U.S. market to include all 50 states.

"POWER’s proprietary technology, the Simplified Combined Cycle (SCC), enables many existing gas-fired power plants to increase output, lower fuel consumption and dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions," POWER President Tom Mason commented. "With the addition of three highly experienced Regional POWER Managers, we have rounded out the team that introduces SCC to plant owners across the country. There are over 1,000 gas turbines in the United States that could benefit economically with an SCC retrofit. This team of gas turbine specialists will go after all of them. We can make a real difference in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from power generation in the country."

The team consists of Jerry Babic, David DeYoung and Joe Studniarz.

Jerry Babic’s unique sales and technical experience at prior employers including GE and Stewart and Stevenson will benefit POWER’s sales activities. Most recently, Mr. Babic was a senior GE account manager and worked with major U.S. utilities to help get the most out of their power plants and add new capacity. While at Stewart, he managed the operation and maintenance of cogeneration plants. He received his BSBA from the University of Phoenix.

David De Young has spent the majority of his thirty-year career working in sales management positions for turbine manufacturers including Rolls Royce Energy Systems and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Mr. DeYoung’s career with these major combustion turbine OEMs is distinguished by his long time experience in bringing new CT technology to the market and helping customers understand what it can do for them. He received his BS from the University of Wisconsin.

Joe Studniarz’ career includes extensive electric power industry application engineering, business development, sales and marketing experience. His familiarity with all segments of the regulated and deregulated power industry is the direct result of his twenty-plus year career with General Electric. He holds an MSE from Northeastern University and received his BSME from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

We are excited about these talented professionals and their ability to introduce the SCC technology to owners looking to improve their power plant’s overall performance," stated John Redding, POWER’s Senior Vice President. "POWER’s success depends upon the ability of our team to work effectively with plant owners to explain POWER’s SCC technology and evaluate the economic and environmental value it creates. Jerry, David and Joe have the ability, found in only seasoned industry professionals, to connect the technically-complex technology with a power plant’s bottom line."

Headquartered in Fremont, California, POWER is focused on clean, fuel-efficient natural gas-fired power generation. The company applies experienced professionals and advanced power technologies in the form of SCC to enable existing power plants to generate more power at lower cost with reduced air emissions. POWER develops new power plants to reduce power costs for industrial customers, and provides technologies that are complementary to the economic deployment of wind (Wind-SCC Program), solar and biomass plants. The company is positioned to make a major impact on the new U.S. power market by upgrading existing power plants, and partnering with wind and solar power developers to provide reliable, highly efficient backup power for new renewable energy projects.
